Due to reduced stadium crowds, a cancelled preseason and players opting out as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, the 2020 NFL season is going to be unlike anything we’ve seen in the past.
The league has given players until 4 p.m. ET on Thursday to opt out of the season. Fortunately for Falcons fans, zero Atlanta players have opted out as of yet.
NFL players have until 4 p.m. to opt out of the season. The Falcons have been given no indication at this time that any players will do so, although these things sometimes happen unexpectedly. See: Braves/Markakis.

The players still have over four hours to change their mind before today’s deadline, however, it looks like the Falcons will be opening the season with the majority of their team intact.
Atlanta still has two players on the reserve/COVID-19 list, but that’s a good sign considering six players were listed less than a week ago. Stay tuned to see if any Falcons players opt out before 4:00 pm ET.
