Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero just wrapped up a nearby business trip.
As announced on Wednesday afternoon, the Atlanta Falcons have completed a second, in-person head-coaching interview with Evero. The 43-year-old has also received interest for follow-ups from the Panthers, who reportedly spoke with him on Monday, and the Seattle Seahawks, who have a talk scheduled for Saturday.
Evero has emerged as one of the NFL’s top defensive coordinators over the past two seasons. He orchestrated the seventh-ranked defense for the Denver Broncos in 2022 and the fourth-ranked defense for the Panthers in 2023.
In addition to Evero, Carolina has carried over Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales and Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris into the second stage of their search. Both are expected to interview with the team today.
As for Atlanta, Evero is one of three candidates to have completed a second meeting—joining Morris and former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.
