Falcons rookie Kyle Pitts was so highly regarded by NFL scouts that nobody blinked an eye when Atlanta selected him fourth overall in 2021, the highest a tight end had even been drafted. The team took the field for its first padded practice of training camp on Tuesday and already Pitts has hauled in a miraculous touchdown catch from quarterback Matt Ryan.
Watch as Pitts uses his frame to box out cornerback Fabian Moreau and recover the ball once it’s jarred loose in the air, as shared by the team’s Twitter account.

If Pitts can keep making plays like this when the regular season starts, it will help mitigate some of the sting from dealing away Julio Jones. Fans should also be delighted to hear that Pitts isn’t solely lining up as a pass-catching tight end, head coach Arthur Smith has flexed the rookie out wide to act as a receiver.
