The Falcons upgraded their secondary on Thursday night, selecting A.J. Terrell of Clemson with the 16th pick. With round two kicking off in under an hour, Touchdown Wire released its second and third-round projections.
Atlanta holds pick No. 47 in the second, and pick No. 78 in round three — both of which TD Wire’s Mark Schofield forecasts the team to draft defensive help.
For the Falcons’ second-round pick, Schofield has the Falcons selecting TCU defensive tackle Ross Blacklock:
They stay focused on their defense, and add Ross Blacklock, a quick interior defender who will make a great running mate for Grady Jarrett. Both players have the ability to play anywhere along the interior, which gives Dan Quinn and defensive coordinator Raheem Morris a ton of options as to how they want to attack opposing offensive lines. Blacklock loves to swallow up double-teams at the point of attack, and with him and Jarrett in front of them, Atlanta’s linebackers are going to kept mighty clean on Sundays.
In the third, Schofield projects Falcons to select a replacement for linebacker De’Vondre Campbell in Appalachian State’s Akeem Davis-Gaither. Make sure to tune in at 7:00 p.m. ET when round two of the 2020 NFL Draft kicks off.
