Ex-Lions TE Logan Thomas will sign with the Redskins

Thomas caught 16 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown as the No. 3 TE behind T.J. Hockenson and Jesse James

Logan Thomas will not be back in Detroit in 2020. The reserve tight end will sign with the Washington Redskins as a free agent.

John Keim of ESPN reported the news, though Thomas’ own wife was the real source. She posted on Instagram that her husband was changing jerseys from Lions to Skins.

Thomas spent one season in Detroit. The 28-year-old caught 16 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown as the No. 3 TE behind T.J. Hockenson and Jesse James. With Isaac Nauta also on the roster, a return to Detroit was unlikely.

Thomas is from Virginia and played QB at Virginia Tech before reinventing himself as a tight end in various NFL stops.
