Eric Ebron continues his tour of Midwestern cities in 2020. The former Lions tight end has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Ebron signed for two years in Pittsburgh, the same amount of time the enigmatic TE spent in Indianapolis before the Colts, and Colts fans, had enough of him.
His first year in Indianapolis was his best, earning a Pro Bowl berth. He fell back to being the player the Lions fans made the subject of frequent scorn from 2014-2017 last season, however. Ebron never lived up to expectations for being Detroit’s first-round pick in 2014, a selection that was pilloried from the get-go. It weighed on him.
It will be interesting to see how Steelers fans react to his inconsistent, occasionally great but often underwhelming play.
