Former Detroit Lions cornerback Teez Tabor is back on the free agent market. The San Francisco 49ers waived Tabor on Monday to sign journeyman CB Jamar Taylor.
Tabor was waived with a non-football injury designation.
Detroit’s second-round pick in 2017 out of Florida, Tabor struggled badly with the speed of the pro game. He allowed a perfect passer rating in throws targeted at him in 2018, when he was a part-time starter in Detroit. The Lions cut him at the end of the 2019 preseason.
He landed in San Francisco and spent most of last year on the 49ers practice squad. Tabor has 42 tackles and zero plays on the football in 22 career games, all with Detroit.
