Ex-Falcons TE Anthony Firkser signs with New York Jets

Former Falcons tight end Anthony Firkser has signed with the New York Jets

When Arthur Smith was the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, the team put a major emphasis on the tight end position. From developmental guys like Feleipe Franks to scrappy veterans like MyCole Pruitt, the Falcons went through their fair share of tight ends over the last three seasons.

Anthony Firkser was featured in this group, appearing in 11 games for the Falcons in 2022. The veteran tight end finished that season with nine catches for 100 receiving yards but did not return to Atlanta in 2023. According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Firkser has signed with the New York Jets.

With head coach Raheem Morris and offensive coordinator Zac Robinson coming over from Los Angeles, the team went in a different direction during the 2024 offseason. The Falcons signed former 49ers tight ends Charlie Woerner and Ross Dwelley.
