Former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Daurice Fountain signed a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday, per his agent.
Fountain signed with the Chiefs after being one of five players to attend their rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.
A fifth-round pick for the Colts in 2018, Fountain played three snaps during his rookie campaign. He had a promising start to training camp in 2019 before suffering a dislocated ankle during the joint practices with the Cleveland Browns.
After missing the 2019 season due to the injury, Fountain failed to make the 53-man roster in 2020 but was signed to the practice squad. He was elevated for the Week 9 game against the Baltimore Ravens but reverted back to the practice squad and spent the remainder of the season there.
The Colts decided against re-signing him during the 2021 offseason.
