Evil Dead: The Game delayed to May

More time to make things groovy.

Groovy times are ahead this spring, since Evil Dead: The Game  is now coming out on May 13, 2022.

On Friday, Saber Interactive announced that the highly-anticipated  co-op multiplayer  shooter needs a few more months of development time than the original February 2022 release window would allow.

“When we set out to create a brand new game worthy of the Evil Dead  franchise, we knew it had to be groovy as hell,” Saber Interactive said  on Twitter. “This delay gives our team the time they need to get things just right, so your boomstick will be polished, fully loaded, and ready to blast Deadites on that Friday the 13th of May. We thank you for your patience and understanding.”

The latter part of Saber Interactive’s statement is likely a cute nod towards the Friday The 13th series  since there’s was an infamous comic crossover where Evil Dead’s  Ash fought Jason Voorhees. No, really

Even though this delay might be a bummer, it’s probably for the best. We don’t need more buggy launches like the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy. At least Evil Dead: The Game is still coming out soon(ish), unlike S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl which recently saw a seven-month delay.
