Florida is back in the SEC Championship for the first time since 2016 on Saturday, and once again, it draws Alabama in Atlanta. The No. 1 Crimson Tide are unblemished on the year, and they enter with their College Football Playoff fate likely sealed regardless of the outcome.
The Gators, on the other hand, saw their playoff candidacy take a major hit last week with a 37-34 loss to LSU. Now, even a win over Alabama leaves UF in a tough spot for the CFP.
No two-loss team has ever made the playoff, but the Gators also only dropped one spot in the CFP Poll after last week. They may need some help to sneak into the top four, but it’s enough motivation to make Saturday’s game interesting.
The SEC Championship kicks off from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta at 8 p.m. EST on CBS. You can stream it on the CBS Sports app.
