An up-and-down Florida season comes to a close on Wednesday night. The Gators captured an SEC East title for the first time since 2016, and they looked like they could be heading toward the College Football Playoff.
But losses to LSU and Alabama derailed that effort. Now UF sits at 8-3 on the outside of the CFP looking in. Its consolation prize is its third New Year’s Six Bowl in a row against a strong Oklahoma team.
The Sooners are the champions out of the Big 12 and are on a seven-game winning streak after starting the season 1-2. But they face perhaps their toughest test this season in Florida’s offense.
The Gators’ receiving corps will be shorthanded, but they have Heisman finalist Kyle Trask for this game. What should be a high-scoring showdown kicks off at 8 p.m. EST tonight on ESPN. You can stream it from the ESPN app.
