On Saturday night, the Alabama Crimson Tide went to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and left Tiger Stadium with a dominant 42-13 victory over the LSU Tigers.
This game simply featured pure dominance at times from the Crimson Tide, in particular with Alabama’s ability to run the ball through quarterback Jalen Milroe, as well as with forcing turnovers where LSU had three.
LSU head coach Brian Kelly also commented on some of the Tigers struggles Saturday night after the game during his postgame press conference as well, saying:
“Well, I’ll begin by saying what we thought would be an exciting evening turned out to be a disappointing evening,” Kelly said. “I told my team I was certainly excited coming into the game about their preparation, and the way that they thought about this game and what they needed to do physically, mentally, and all the things we talk about. I was excited about their preparation. They were ready to play. I take ownership in not getting our guys in the right position tonight, and we just did not make the best of the opportunities that we had, and then certainly a lot of things didn’t go the right way tonight with not being able to get off the field on third down, turning the ball over on offense, and it just seemed there were at times some key things in the game that didn’t go our way. One of those nights where you look at it and its’ totality. Take nothing away from Alabama, they played very well tonight as well.”
Kelly also later added on LSU’s struggles defensively against the Alabama offense, saying:
“If you’re watching the game, you’re like, what did these guys do for two weeks,” Kelly said. “We have a scheme to stop the quarterback, and we did not get that done.”
