Every U.S. Open golf champion since 2000, from Tiger Woods to Matthew Fitzpatrick

Starting with Tiger Woods’ dominance at Pebble Beach, here’s every U.S. Open winner since 2000.

The 2023 U.S. Open will begin on Thursday, June 15th at the historic Los Angeles Country Club, which is hosting the greatest players in the world in a tournament for the first time since 1940.

Matthew Fitzpatrick, who prevailed last year at The Country Club in Brookline, returns as the defending champion, and the field will face an unrelenting challenge and supremely difficult conditions.

Each of the last three U.S. Open championships has been won with a score of 6-under par, and the last winner to finish over par was Brooks Koepka in 2018.

The highest score to win since 2000? That’s 5-over par, which happened two years in a row. Geoff Ogilvy won at 5-over in 2006 (at Winged Foot) before Angel Cabrera won at 5-over in 2007 (at Oakmont).
