The 49ers didn’t experience a ton of turnover with their starters this offseason, but that didn’t stop them from acquiring 33 new players that are on their 90-man roster heading into training camp.
While most of these newcomers may not make the team or have an outsized role right away, finding contributors on the margins of free agency and the NFL draft is how San Francisco can extend its Super Bowl window with a roster so top-heavy with talent. There’s a strong chance if they’re still contending over the next two or three years it’s because of some of the new faces on the team in 2023.
