1984 NBA All-Star Game
For the first time since his third consecutive NBA All-Star selection in 1980-81 — his last season with the Kansas City Kings — Otis Birdsong was named a league All-Star in 1984. It was the only time he was named an All-Star while he was with the New Jersey Nets.
He didn’t post huge numbers in the contest, but fans did get to see an overtime battle that also featured former Nets legend Julius Erving, as well as Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabaar and Isiah Thomas.
