Every bonkers moment between the Liberty and Lynx that lead to OT in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals

The WNBA Finals opened with an OT matchup, and that wasn’t the wildest thing that happened.

The final seconds of regulation in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals were absolutely wild, and you might not believe it if you didn’t watch it.

The New York Liberty were dominating the Lynx in every facet. After playing two games in three nights, Minnesota looked sluggish, and soon, the lead was 18. No matter what the Lynx did, the deficit was never close enough to capitalize — until it was. Minnesota erased everything the Liberty threw to take the lead with less than 10 seconds left on the filthiest 3-point shot from Courtney Williams. Williams just heaved it up and SWISH. The basket counted, and there was a foul. But that wasn’t all.

There was absolute madness as both teams tried to end the game (including a wild jump ball call). The Lynx had a chance to win it in regulation, but Napheesa Collier fouled Breanna Stewart with less than a second left on the clock. The Liberty then had a chance to win it, but Breanna Stewart’s second free throw didn’t fall. MADNESS. Here’s that whole sequence in all its glory.
