Ever since golf restarted, it’s been easy to marvel at Bryson DeChambeau’s transformation … and his ridiculously powerful shot off the tee.
But even DeChambeau’s driver couldn’t quite handle Bryson’s force during the opening round of the PGA Championship on Thursday.
The odd scene in question happened at the par-4, seventh hole. DeChambeau hit his tee shot, and after he leaned over to pick up his tee, he noticed as the head of his driver tumbled onto the ground. His driver was broken, and just like the rest of us, DeChambeau wasn’t exactly sure how it happened.
Microphones on the course picked up his reaction to the broken driver.

He said:
“That was weird. Swinging too hard … I guess it’s all those swings I’ve put in.”
Rickie Fowler and Bryson DeChambeau were equally stunned when the driver broke.

Luckily for Bryson, he would be allowed to replace his driver because it was broken unintentionally.
Bryson DeChambeau accidentally broke his driver on the 7th hole. He'll be allowed to replace it.

He’d go on to par the hole.
