Stewart-Haas Racing’s future has never been more murky. Kevin Harvick and Aric Almirola’s departures led to Josh Berry and Noah Gragson joining the NASCAR Cup Series program, but the noise hasn’t stopped. According to a recent report, Stewart-Haas Racing could sell one or more charters as chatter has recently picked up in the garage area.
Plus, Stewart-Haas Racing’s future with Ford is uncertain as their contract is coming to an end. It has been a rough few seasons for the organization in the Cup Series, as the NASCAR Xfinity Series program is fresh off a championship. Should Stewart-Haas Racing downsize amid the rumors of a potential charter sale later in the year?
It would certainly make sense. Stewart-Haas Racing’s performance hasn’t been up to par in the NextGen car, with no victories since Harvick’s final win at Richmond Raceway in 2022. It is reasonable to suggest that Stewart-Haas Racing is spreading out its resources too much and that focusing on two or three race teams would be beneficial.
65 races since his last win. Streak SNAPPED.

Entering the eighth weekend of the 2024 NASCAR season, Chase Briscoe is Stewart-Haas Racing’s only driver to sit in the top 20 spots of the point standings. In fact, Briscoe and Gragson have a combined four top-10 finishes, while Berry and Ryan Preece have none. The speed has been better than last season, but the team is still struggling.
If Stewart-Haas Racing downsized in 2025, it would likely benefit from the extra money and more focus on each race team. It’s unclear where the organization will end up with its contract with Ford expiring, but something needs to change. Even if only one charter is on the move, it will help Stewart-Haas Racing, as it needs to find victory lane again.
