The same day Auburn lost its top wide receiver and backup quarterback to the transfer portal, it also found out that its leading tackle would return.
[autotag]Eugen Asante[/autotag] took to social media to announce that he will be returning for his third season on the Plains, instead of declaring for the NFL draft.
Asante led Auburn with 84 tackles and added 8.5 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks and a fumble recovery touchdown.
He started his career at North Carolina and transferred in ahead of the 2022 season. He was unable to crack the linebacker rotation but became a key member of the scout team. His breakout started in the preseason of this year when he made it clear that he was one of Auburn’s top linebackers.
