The Colorado Buffaloes added a key piece to their basketball team by bringing in Ethan Wright from Princeton as a graduate transfer.
The addition of Wright is a big one, especially after both Elijah Parquet and Keeshawn Barthelemy transferred out.
Wright averaged 14.7 PPG and 6.9 rebounds for Princeton this past season and is expected to play a major role for Tad Boyle’s group in 2022.
Wright does a lot of things well on the basketball court, and he acknowledged that he won’t just be on the bench, although his exact role is to be determined (h/t Pat Rooney of BuffZone).
“He (Boyle) wants to kind of let me go to try and get offensive rebounds and stuff. We didn’t talk about specific (roles), but they don’t want me to come and just stay on the sidelines. That was another reason I was attracted to Colorado. It’s a unique opportunity.”
The Buffs saw Jabari Walker enter the NBA draft — although he could return if he chooses to — and then watched Parquet and Barthelemy leave, so bringing in Wright is a step in the right direction.
Moving from the Ivy League to the Pac-12 is quite a change, but Wright should have no problem fitting in with the Buffs and should play a significant role.
