It’s been about three weeks since the global coronavirus pandemic put a total halt on almost all professional sports. During a time when every aspect of daily life has been turned upside down, I find myself craving the normality of little things, like being able to flip on the TV and just watch an NHL or an NBA game. That’s not going to happen for at least a little while longer, though and with no sports on the horizon, I’m pretty nostalgic for all those moments.
For so many of us, sports aren’t just a hobby but a real, integral part of our lives and that void has left us all out of sorts. We miss sports. We miss all the dumb, exciting stuff that used to happen on a daily basis. Of course, the World Wide Leader understands your pain, and put together a montage of funny, emotional and inspiring moments from the past year that’s sure to tug at your heart.
Sports.
We miss it, too. pic.twitter.com/Q7GBuxAgFU

I’m not ashamed to say I got a little lump in my throat watching this! We all miss sports and we all miss our normal, every day lives where we didn’t have to worry about a crashing economy and a global health crisis. Things are hard out there, and it makes my chest clench a little to think about a more innocent and carefree time when we could all rally around a Zamboni driver playing goalie or fight about college basketball and debate draft picks. It’s ok though. We’re in a holding pattern. We just gotta hang on till things get back to normal. And don’t worry, they will.
