LSU football is red hot in the transfer portal.
According to ESPN, the Tigers have landed four of the top 12 players in the 2025 transfer class.
The top addition is former Kentucky wide receiver Barion Brown, who ranks No. 7 in ESPN’s rankings.
“Brown has the complete package of size, speed, and ball skills,” ESPN wrote.
The next of the bunch is former Virginia Tech cornerback Mansoor Delane, who ranks No. 9 overall. ESPN wrote Delane would be an early-round NFL draft pick if he elected to turn pro.
Rounding out the top 12 are former Oklahoma wide receiver Nic Anderson and former Florida State defensive end Patrick Payton.
Payton is yet to officially sign with LSU, but reports indicate Baton Rouge is the destination.
Both Anderson and Payton fill big needs for LSU. Anderson was an impact playmaker for Oklahoma in 2023, but injuries threw a wrench into his 2024. Still, LSU is getting the big-bodied receiver it needs on the outside.
With Payton, LSU gets a talented defensive end entering his fifth year of college football. Payton can rush the passer, defend the run, and provide LSU with the power conference experience it needs on the edge.
