Nebraska football quarterback Dylan Raiola got another shoutout in the media on Monday, this time from Pat McAfee. McAfee praised the signal-caller as the freshman prepares for a primetime matchup against the Colorado Buffaloes.
McAfee has not been shy in his praise for the Nebraska football program. In August, he gave props to coach Matt Rhule when a clip of him addressing the team went viral. Now, the former punter is excited about what Raiola brings to the table, sharing the mindset of many Nebraska fans.
Raiola had a solid freshman debut on Saturday against UTEP. He threw for 238 yards and two touchdowns as Nebraska rolled to a 40-7 victory. The quarterback made some incredible throws, including a touchdown pass at the end of the first half that was dropped right in the bucket to Isaiah Neyor.
McAfee gushed about the quarterback on Tuesday morning,
“This is a guy, “McAfee said. “I love it. This guy is made for the moment.”
“His dad was an offensive lineman, so he has literally grown up in the trenches in football. He’s got the moxie, the swagger, the size, the ability. Rhule’s got one,” McAfee said.
The young quarterback is turning heads early in his career, and Saturday’s game is a chance to build on that momentum.
