ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has Arkansas as a projected 5-seed in NCAA Tournament

Arkansas’ new-look roster is considered stout already.

Yes, it’s mid-June. College basketball is just under five months away. Almost couldn’t be closer to the midpoint from last season to next season.

But that didn’t stop ESPN’s Joe Lunardi from dropping an update to his Bracketology projections.

Arkansas, with all its new players, is a projected No. 5-seed in next year’s NCAA Tournament, per the bracket guru. Tennessee, Alabama and Texas A&M were the only SEC schools picked ahead of the Razorbacks.

Coach Eric Musselman’s team will return guard Devo Davis and center Makhi Mitchell, but almost no other regular from last year’s roster after losing four players to the NBA Draft, one to the transfer portal and another to graduation.

But Musselman brought in one of the top-rated classes from the transfer portal, too, as five players were brought in to fill those empty spots. Arkansas’ class ranks fifth in the country in the portal rankings.

The Razorbacks went 22-14 overall and just 8-10 in SEC play last year, but made the Sweet 16 for the third straight season.
