ESPN is taking their flagship college football show, College GameDay, to Bloomington, Indiana, for the first time as the Hoosiers will take on the Washington Huskies in a Big Ten battle, marking the second new city for the pregame show this season.
The show has previously visited Bloomington in 2017, but under very different circumstances, as the Hoosiers took on Ohio State in a season-opening affair on Thursday night.
Coach Curt Cignetti’s 7-0 team will host Jedd Fisch and the 4-3 Huskies in their first meeting in conference play for the first showdown between the two teams since 2003 when the Huskies came away with a 38-13 at Husky Stadium.
This will be the second time in just over a year that Washington will be highlighted on the show, the third when factoring in January’s national championship. The first came when the Huskies hosted their arch-rivals, Oregon, and came away with a 36-33 win.
Appearances on the show haven’t always gone Washington’s way, as the Huskies hold a 2-7 record on GameDay.
The show will also be a homecoming for Lee Corso, who coached the Hoosiers from 1973-82. He will be joined by other hosts, Pat McAfee, Desmond Howard, Rece Davis, Nick Saban, and Kirk Herbstreit.
One of the biggest draws of the show is its special guest picker, and the most obvious choice would be quarterback Michael Penix Jr. since he played for both teams. While he would be the perfect choice, as he’s revered by both fanbases, since he will be traveling with the Atlanta Falcons to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers, he will probably be unavailable.
Bloomington, here we come‼️
