There has been a great deal of speculation over the past week regarding who would be the celebrity guest picker for ESPN’s “College GameDay” this weekend when the No. 8 Oregon Ducks travel to Seattle to face the No. 7 Washington Huskies.
On Thursday, ESPN announced it would be actor Joel McHale who comes on the flagship show to make honorary picks at the end of the broadcast. McHale is known for his role on “Community,” as well as the long-time host of “The Soup.”

McHale was a former walk-on tight end for the Huskies in the 1990s, but never appeared in a game. McHale has twice been the guest picker for ESPN’s “College GameDay.”
Other options included actor Anna Faris, actor Rainn Wilson, former NBA star Nate Robinson and Olympian Megan Rapinoe, who potentially would have brought along WNBA legend Sue Bird.
