“If … new offensive pieces meet a sky-high standard.”
Connelly’s take:
Wisconsin almost always has great RBs and interior linemen. Still, departed All-Americans Jonathan Taylor (RB) and Tyler Biadasz (center) set an awfully high bar, and both starting guards are gone, too. Wisconsin will be good here, but the Badgers need to be as good as ever to contend. It’s hard to predict that will happen.
The RB position is obviously the hardest to fill with the departure of Jonathan Taylor. Nakia Watson, freshman Jalen Berger, Julius Davis, and Isaac Guerendo should all be in the conversation for carries when practices begin again. Despite the departure of WR Quintez Cephus, the wide receiver position has two proven veterans in Danny Davis and Kendric Pryor to go along with a number of names who could step into a bigger role this season. If a Badger RB steps up and carries the load, Wisconsin will be in a solid position on the offensive side of the ball.
