While Michigan football handled business in Week 2, beating UNLV, 35-7, other teams weren’t so hot on the second official Saturday of college football.
The big news was Texas‘ upset of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, returning the favor from a year ago when the Crimson Tide won in Austin. Colorado continued rolling. Ole Miss took down ranked Tulane. Washington State upended ranked Wisconsin and much, much more.
The Wolverines didn’t see much movement in the latest ESPN power rankings following Week 2, but there were big bright spots. Among those were J.J. McCarthy wheeling and dealing for the second straight week and Blake Corum returning to form with three touchdowns. The maize and blue continue to be the top-ranked Big Ten team, but the conference’s No. 2 is no longer Ohio State.
