ESPN ranks Sixers’ Tyrese Maxey as 42nd-best player in the league

ESPN ranks Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey as the 42nd-best player in the league.

A new season means a new ranking in the NBA. The new 2023-24 season signals it’s time for ESPN’s new top 100-player ranking.

The Philadelphia 76ers feature on lists such as this due to the talent they possess. Tyrese Maxey, who is on his way to being a perennial All-Star, comes in ranked 42nd. He rose two spots from No. 44 in 2022 to No. 42:

Maxey continued his impressive start to his career by eclipsing 20 PPG for the first time in his career and once again improving both his 3-point percentage (43.4) and his attempt rate (6.2 per game). If he can make a leap yet again this season, he could put himself in contention for an All-Star spot.

Maxey is coming off an impressive third season in which he averaged 20.3 points and shot 43.4% from deep. The Sixers are looking for him to take another step in his development and become an elite playmaker along with his scoring.
