ESPN projects Carson Beck to go No. 1 in 2025 NFL draft

Will Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck go No. 1 in the 2025 NFL draft?

Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck is projected to be the first player drafted in ESPN’s most recent 2025 NFL mock draft. Beck would become Georgia’s first No. 1 overall pick since the Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Travon Walker first in the 2022 NFL draft.

Carson Beck returns to an ideal situation at Georgia for his senior season this fall. Beck is surrounded with talent and is learning from an excellent coaching staff.

ESPN’s Matt Miller projects that the New York Giants will trade up with the New England Patriots to pick Beck No. 1 in the 2025 draft. The Giants need an upgrade at quarterback.

“Beck — my QB1 in the class at the moment — is a steady pocket passer with a big arm and great processing speed,” said Miller. “And he is primed for a breakout season after throwing 24 touchdown passes and completing 72.4% of his throws in his first season as a starter in 2023.”

Beck is not the most mobile signal caller, but he should command Georgia’s offense at a high level in 2024. Beck avoided turnovers for the most part in his first year as a starter and should continue to improve. Beck has a strong arm and is a quick decision maker.
Miller’s second-ranked quarterback is Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, who goes No. 2 in his mock draft.
