The 2022 college football season is officially here as Week 0 begins this week. For the UNC football program, they open up against Florida A&M before going on the road for their next two games.
This will be an interesting year for the Tar Heels under Mack Brown as they are replacing Sam Howell with Drake Maye and have questions on their roster at key positions. The first four games could really determine what type of season UNC will have, especially with Notre Dame looming as their fourth game.
With the return of college football, ESPN released their updated bowl projections from Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach. The duo updates their rankings every week but seeing the Week 0 predictions gives us a small gauge of what to expect.
And for UNC, they have them matched up against Oregon in the San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl. That bowl game is set to be played at Petco Park in San Diego on December 28th.
Now, these projections are VERY early but the Ducks would be an interesting matchup for the Tar Heels. Especially with rumors swirling that they could leave the Pac-12 as well.
