ESPN NBA analyst Bobby Marks joins SportsCenter to talk about how Bronny James’ defensive form would best translate to the NBA.
The general consensus on Bronny James is that right now, in late June of 2024, Bronny’s complete game is not yet ready to provide consistent NBA production. Bronny might fit the parameters of what we would call a “project,” a player who needs multiple years of development and will need time in the G League to become a more polished and seasoned player. There’s a difference between saying a player doesn’t have the skill set needed to compete in the NBA and, on the other hand, saying that a player has a high ceiling but requires some time to eventually put all the pieces together. Bronny James’ defensive acumen offers the very real possibility that given time, he could improve his offensive game and combine it with his defensive quality. If the offense comes around, the defense is there to give Bronny James a potential foothold in the NBA game. Whether you’re a Bronny skeptic or a Bronny believer, we can all agree that following the progression of his career will be fascinating.
