The mood is changing in a good way for the UNC football program in Chapel Hill following the big win over Pitt on Saturday.
The win moved to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference as they are sitting in the driver’s seat to win the coastal division. With a two-game lead and key tie-breakers, it would take a collapse for them to lose the game.
And now after the win over Pitt, things are getting a little Orange for the Tar Heels bowl projections.
ESPN released its updated bowl projections following this past weekend and both Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach have the Tar Heels in the Orange Bowl.
Bonagura has the Tar Heels facing off against Alabama while Schlabach has them going against Illinois. The Orange Bowl is a New Year’s Six bowl game that will take place on December 30th in Miami.
UNC appeared in the Orange Bowl on January 2, 2021 losing to Texas A&M.
