ESPN has questions about Kentucky in power rankings

Kentucky has fallen out of ESPN’s power rankings after another home loss

The Kentucky Wildcats seasons has gone a bit off the rails over the past month, and as a result, they have been dropping in rankings of every kind. Earlier on Monday, the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll dropped them to 20th, while the Associated Press Poll has them at 22nd. They’re sure to be lower in Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology prediction this week as well.

One other place where they’ve dropped is in ESPN’s power rankings. There, they’ve fallen out of the top 16, which is how far the rankings go. Kentucky is one of three teams they have questions about.

They note Kentucky being 4 – 5 over their last nine games and the fact that the Wildcats are 283rd in the country adjusted defensive efficiency. In short, the defense is so bad, that even their top five offense can’t win games consistently.

No matter where fans want to look, the Kentucky Wildcats are going in the wrong direction. The remaining schedule is difficult, and the SEC Tournament is sure to be grueling. If they’re going to turn it around, it had better be soon, or the season is going to go from bad dream to nightmare.
