For every future opponent for Michigan football, Week 1 is in the books. And now we have a better idea of what to expect going forward.
Though teams will certainly either improve or regress as the season wears on and there are still a lot of questions in Ann Arbor when it comes to the quarterback battle, the defense was impressive against a Colorado State team that was thought to be improved under new head coach Jay Norvell. However, a lot of teams on Michigan’s schedule really eked out their games in the first week of the season. MSU struggled to get past Western Michigan, Iowa had no offense against South Dakota State, even Ohio State didn’t field the explosive offense anticipated against Notre Dame.
