ESPN FPI has UNC as favorites to win ACC Coastal Division

The UNC football program has been projected to win the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal division by ESPN’s FPI rankings.

Mack Brown and the UNC football program are going into their second bye week riding the high of a three-game win streak. At 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Tar Heels control their own destiny after the win over Duke.

UNC has a few games left including some big ACC matchups against Pitt, Virginia, Wake Forest, and NC State.

Going into the bye week, ESPN updated its FPI rankings and there’s good news for the Tar Heels. ESPN is giving UNC an 80% chance to win the Coastal Division and a 16.4 chance to win the ACC championship.

While that’s good news, we do know that the Coastal Division is historically a wild one and a LOT of things can happen as we’ve seen in previous years.

However, this UNC team has a 3-0 start already and winning the next two games would be crucial. Georgia Tech is 2-2 now with the rest of the conference having just one win. If UNC does lose two more times, the two losses would preferably be Wake Forest and NC State due to tiebreakers.

Things are looking good for UNC at the moment. But anything can happen..
