It’s finally game day, but Michigan football fans have to wait just a little longer, as the No. 18 Wolverines don’t take the field until 7:30 p.m. EDT on Saturday night against No. 21 Minnesota.

But, adding the big game atmosphere, ESPN College GameDay is in town here in Minneapolis, broadcasting live from TCF Bank Stadium on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

The maize and blue are 3-point favorites on the road, but many prognosticators and pundits think that they should be on upset alert. So what does the GameDay crew think?

Analyst Kirk Herbstreit doesn’t make a pick, as he’s calling the game as a color analyst along with play-by-play announcer Chris Fowler, but with celebrity guest picker Vince Vaughn appearing on the show, here’s how the ESPN College GameDay staff sees the game playing out:

  • Vince Vaughn: MINNESOTA
  • Desmond Howard: MICHIGAN
  • David Pollack: MINNESOTA
  • Lee Corso: MICHIGAN

Going into the weekend, Lee Corso and Desmond Howard have a commanding lead in the ESPN College GameDay picks, with 24 and 23 respective correct choices this year, so their choices hold, perhaps a little more weight.

Regardless of how it plays out, it’ll be a tough matchup for a Michigan team breaking in new starting quarterback Joe Milton and with a new-look secondary having to defend Tanner Morgan, Rashod Bateman & Co.
