ESPN analyst names top 3 landing spots for LSU QB TJ Finley

TJ Finley will continue his college career elsewhere in the near future.

LSU went through spring practices with a quarterback battle that consisted of four contenders who all remained neck-and-neck throughout the whole process: Max Johnson, Myles Brennan, TJ Finley and Garrett Nussmeier.

Logic tells us in a situation like that, at least one of those players is bound to transfer for starting opportunity elsewhere. After a lackluster spring game performance, that player ended up being Finley.

Finley has had no lack of suitors, as would be expected for a quarterback with his type of potential.

ESPN analyst and college football insider Cole Cubelic gave some insight into his top three landing spots for Finley via Twitter, telling us all to keep our eyes on Penn State, Texas and Auburn.

Of course, these aren’t the only places for Finley to consider, given that the likes of Mississippi State, Georgia and Alabama have also shown interest.

It will be interesting to see where Finley lands, and there’s no doubt that whichever program lands him will have plenty of time to make the most of him — the signal-caller still has at least three years of eligibility remaining.

Finley needs to improve in areas like decision-making, but did show some positive flashes in his lone season at LSU.

He completed 57% of his passes for 941 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions in 2020.
