Eric Singleton, the No. 1 wide receiver in the transfer portal, commits to Auburn

Auburn’s receiving room improved Monday with the addition of Eric Singleton.

Auburn football received an early Christmas gift on Monday morning in the form of a commitment from the transfer portal’s No. 1 wide receiver.

[autotag]Eric Singleton[/autotag], who logged 104 catches for 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns for Georgia Tech over the last two seasons, announced Monday that he has committed to Auburn with two seasons of eligibility remaining. He chose Auburn over programs such as Texas, LSU, and Miami.

Singleton entered the transfer portal as the top wide receiver and the No. 3 overall transfer entry by ESPN after becoming “an instant difference maker” to Georgia Tech’s offense as a freshman. He is a great route runner and brings shifty speed to the wide receiver room. As a member of the Yellow Jackets’ track program, Singleton reached a personal record of 10.32 in the 100-meter dash.

ESPN’s Billy Tucker breaks down what makes Singleton a special player.

Singleton might be one of the best route runners and fastest overall players in the transfer portal.

He’s really good in the underneath passing game where he can turn screens and 5-yard catches into big chunk gains. He also has elite straight-line speed to also get behind the defense and plucks most balls thrown in his vicinity. What makes him such a high commodity in the portal are the intangibles. He’s a great blocker and tough player.

Singleton is a 5-11, 190-pound wide receiver from Douglasville, Georgia. He is the second wide receiver to sign onto Auburn’s 2025 roster from the transfer portal, joining former Wake Forest wide receiver [autotag]Horacio Fields[/autotag]. The duo will team up with returning stars [autotag]Cam Coleman[/autotag] and [autotag]Malcolm Simmons[/autotag] to form what should be a top-tier wide receiver room in the SEC.
