Eric Bieniemy’s agent reveals ‘previously planned’ decision to part ways

Eric Bieniemy’s agent speaks on the move.

The UCLA Bruins surprisingly parted ways with offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy on Thursday.

Bieniemy spent just one year with the Bruins, and now he is a free agent once again in a bit of a surprise.

Bieniemy’s agent, Jason Flecther, released a statement after Bieniemy and UCLA agreed to part ways, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

“Eric and UCLA mutually parted ways today as previously planned. He’s still getting paid by the Commanders. After interviewing for head coaching jobs last year, he wanted to stay active and busy. So, he decided to go help out Deshaun Foster, who is like his little brother, at UCLA as opposed to sitting out a year. The plan was always to return to the NFL in 2025, and he’s looking forward to the opportunities ahead.”

Bieniemy had received interviews for NFL jobs in the past, and now it wouldn’t be surprising if his name comes up again for this next coaching cycle.
