Emmanuel Sanders had himself quite the first half in Sunday’s game between the 49ers and Saints. He became the first Niners player in team history to record passing and receiving touchdowns in the same game.
He was understandably excited about the big plays, and apparently he couldn’t wait to check the reactions on Twitter.
After the Saints and Niners went into the locker room for halftime, fans noticed that Sanders liked and retweeted the highlights of both his touchdowns during the break. Doing so, of course, would be a violation of NFL rules.
These were the highlights:
.@JimmyG_10 to @ESanders_10. 75 yards! 🙌

Though there’s a chance that Sanders wasn’t the one running the account, NFL rules against in-game tweets extend to both players and anyone operating their accounts.
Via NFL.com:
During games, no updates will be permitted by the individual himself or anyone representing him on his personal Twitter, Facebook or any other social media account.
Someone with access to Sanders’ account eventually got word of the rule because the likes and retweets were removed as the second half got underway.
