Emmanuel Sanders doesn’t like pundits bringing up his age

“Keep bringing up my age to make yourself feel good but go look at the film,” Sanders said.

Emmanuel Sanders is about to become a 32-year-old free agent in March. Well, maybe we should simply call him a free agent wide receiver.

Sanders, who has 10 years of experience in the NFL, is getting older but he has remained productive. The former Broncos receiver noted on social media earlier this week that pundits shouldn’t be so quick to mention his age.

“It’s crazy how people keep talking bout my age but I’m still flying past 23-year-olds and only had two drops the entire year,” Sanders tweeted on Tuesday. “One with the Broncos and one with the Niners. Keep bringing up my age to make yourself feel good but go look at the film.”

If Sanders has lost a step, it hasn’t notably hurt his production.

He was healthy for 12 games in Denver two years ago and caught 71 passes for 868 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass in 2018.

Last year, Sanders spent part of the season with the Broncos and part of the year with the 49ers, ending the season with 66 receptions for 869 yards and five touchdowns. He might be getting older, but Sanders clearly still has some gas left in the tank.
