Former Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah followed Kendall Fuller, becoming the second player to post a goodbye message on social media directed toward Chiefs Kingdom. Ogbah agreed to join the Miami Dolphins in free agency. Like most of the NFL, the Dolphins have yet to officially announce Ogbah’s deal. However, he’s agreed to terms on a two-year contract worth a total of $15 million.
While Ogbah didn’t spend a lot of time in Kansas City, his time with the Chiefs helped jumpstart his career. He was part of a trade that sent Eric Murray to the Browns, joining the Chiefs ahead of the 2019 season. During the regular season, Ogbah matched his career-high in sacks with 5.5 which led the team for a period. It’s impressive considering he appeared in just 10 games and started only five.
On Friday, Ogbah took to social media to show his appreciation for his brief time spent with the Chiefs.
“Thank you Kansas City,” Ogbah wrote on Instagram and Twitter “I appreciate the love and hospitality you guys showed me during my time! Although it was short-lived, I promise I will always have love for Chiefs Kingdom! God bless…”
Ogbah will forever be a part of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl-winning season. His season may have been cut short with a torn pec, but they’ll remember his contributions early in the season when Frank Clark and other pass-rushers dealt with injury.
