With some of the most legendary football players, such as Tom Brady, announcing their retirement, many people are looking to the up-and-coming players to see who has the potential to fill their boots. There is a long list of rookie players that have shown that they may be capable of having long and successful careers. Below we will go through who you should be looking out for as future stars of football.

Quarterbacks

Quarterback is one of the most important and influential positions in football that can change the outcome of a game in a split-second. In 2023, four quarterbacks are expected to be picked up from the first 10 draft picks, which are scheduled to take place in Kansas City, Missouri, from April 27 to April 29. Although none of these four picks is expected to finish in the top 12, with respect to fantasy numbers, it is likely that they will have a respectable first season.

This first season will be extremely important for these players to find their feet and for fans to understand their play style. For those interested in football betting, it is a good idea to watch how these players perform in their first season to get an idea of how their future careers could pan out in the NFL. If you are able to figure out the style of each player, you will have a better chance of accurately predicting how they will perform in their games.

Bryce Young, Alabama

Back in 2021, Bryce Young won the Heisman Trophy at the age of just 21 years old. He is a player that has shown that he has the skill and vision to make good decisions under a lot of pressure and consistently perform well. On the field, he is capable of finding his teammates with immense precision, which is why he has made it onto this list of players to watch for the future.

One thing that Bryce Young, however, does not have is height. At just 5 feet and 11 inches tall, he will be one of the shortest quarterbacks in the NFL. It will be a matter of whether or not this size disadvantage will prevent Young from reaching his full potential or if he can overcome this and succeed in the big leagues. One thing is certain: Young is a player who won’t go down without a fight.

C.J. Stroud, Ohio State

C.J. Stroud is another player that has been shown to possess a fantastic passing ability and a cool head to perform under immense pressure. Unlike Bryce Young, Shroud’s height is not a problem, with him standing at 6 feet and 3 inches tall and weighing in at 218 pounds. Only time will tell if he will be able to continue his impressive form and become a top quarterback.

Will Levis, Kentucky

Will Levis has the ability to throw the ball further than you would think possible. At 6 feet and 4 inches tall and weighing 230 pounds, his strength cannot be questioned. There are, however, some questions relating to his ball placement and touch. If Levis is to become one of the great quarterbacks, he will need to polish up a few things in his rookie NFL season.

Anthony Richardson, Florida

Anthony Richardson is one of those players that appears to have everything you could want in a star quarterback. From mobility, arm strength, and size to overall ability, he shows a lot of potential to fulfil the role of some of the greats. However, he has only started 13 games in his career, so Richardson still has a lot to prove before earning star status as a top quarterback in the big leagues.

Running backs

Running back is a position that many people look at as a special role for rookies to make their name in the NFL. Some big names, such as Breece Hall and Isiah Pacheco, came out of the draft in 2022. However, this year, the rookies for this position are less well-known. It’s important to keep an eye on these players who have so far gone under the radar.

Jahmyr Gibbs, Alabama

Up first is Jahmyr Gibbs, who started out as a wide receiver back in high school and stood out on the field as a fantastic pass catcher. He is lightning-fast and has the agility required to perform on the big stage. In 2022, he was the number one in the sport for forced missed tackles at 18, showing that he is capable of performing consistently. As Gibbs looks to the future, he plans on improving his physique and skill to compete in the big leagues.

Tyjae Spears, Tulane

After a fantastic performance during the Senior Bowl, Tyjae Spears is looking to continue to impress coaches and teams with his explosive speed and ability to play as a receiver and runner at the top level. As he continues to train, Spears will look to once again impress others with his 20-yard shuttle and 40-yard dash time.
