Michigan football is wrapping up its final big recruiting weekend of the spring and early summer: Another dead period begins this week. Of the prospects that made it to campus, one stands above the rest as a priority target.
Though many are watching Florida four-star safety Zaquan Patterson, all eyes are on Idaho-based wide receiver Gatlin Bair. Bair is technically in the 2024 class, though he will not arrive on his campus of choice for a few years. First, he plans to go on a mission trip. Noted as the fastest man in the class after running a reported 10.18 100-meter dash, the Burley (Idaho) Senior High School prospect is a high four-star who is rated No. 36 overall according to 247Sports.
On the heels of his visit to Ann Arbor, he received two predictions from different sites indicating he’ll eventually choose the Wolverines On3’s Sean Callahan and Maize and Blue Review (Rivals) publisher Josh Henschke.
In April, Bair named a top five of Michigan, Oregon, Boise State, Nebraska and TCU. He has offers from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Texas and many other top schools.
Michigan has another Idahoan on campus. Standout sophomore tight end Colston Loveland hails from Gooding (Idaho). Reportedly, Loveland pitched Bair on the benefits of heading to Ann Arbor after cutting his teeth in Idaho.
