Elite center recruit Mouhammed Sylla eliminates Washington

Washington will have to look elsewhere to bolster the frontcourt of the 2025 class.

Danny Sprinkle and the Washington Huskies have put together the Big Ten’s top recruiting class in 2025 according to 247Sports, but after announcing his top three on Thursday, it won’t include four-star center Mouhammed Sylla.

After including the Huskies in his top five in November, the 6-foot-10, 240-pound center who plays for Bella Vista Prep in Scottsdale, Arizona, announced he’s narrowed his choices down to Arkansas, Georgia Tech, and Oregon.

The nation’s No. 29 overall recruit and No. 5 center in 247Sports’ rankings took an official visit to Washington in November and watched the Huskies cruise to a 77-60 victory over Alcorn State.

“I watched them play and sometimes they play through their bigs,” Sylla told 247Sports’ Dushawn London following the trip to Montlake.

If he had picked the Huskies, Sylla would’ve been viewed as the cherry on top of a very strong first full class for Sprinkle’s coaching staff. The Huskies added two four-star guards in JJ Mandaquit and Courtland Muldrew, junior college transfer center Mady Traore, who Sprinkle called one of the best JuCo players in the country, and forward Niko Bundalo, the nation’s No. 30 prospect.
