The 2026 recruiting cycle hasn’t even officially begun, but we’re coming down the home stretch in the pursuit of one of the best overall players in the class.
On Thursday, five-star quarterback [autotag]Faizon Brandon[/autotag] named his final four, which includes LSU, Alabama, Tennessee and NC State. Brandon also announced that he will be making his commitment decision on Aug. 3.
Brandon is a top 10 prospect and the No. 2 quarterback in the cycle according to the On3 industry rankings, but 247Sports is the highest on the Grimsley (Greensboro, N.C.) prospect and has him ranked as the top overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

LSU currently has two pledges in the 2026 class, but Brandon would give it quite the player to build around. However, it seems the Tigers have some ground to make up here as Tennessee holds a crystal ball projection from 247Sports and is the heavy favorite according to the On3 recruiting prediction machine.
