Sophomore linebacker Elijah Herring appeared in every game for the Vols during the 2023 regular-season.
The 6-foot-3, 238-pound Herring recorded 76 tackles and 2.5 tackles for a loss in 12 contests.
“I feel like it went pretty well,” Herring said of the 2023 regular-season. “I feel like there were some ups and downs during the season, but I feel like it could’ve been worse. It’s always something to build off of.”
Herring also discussed how different the season was with a major role on Tennessee’s defense.
“It was a definitely a big jump from last year,” Herring said. “Last year, I feel like I kept myself a little bit prepared, still watching film, still studying, still taking good notes. I feel like that, it carried on to this season, so it wasn’t as hard to actually game prep, study a guy like 24/7. It wasn’t that big of a jump.”
