Early mock draft focuses on Caleb Williams, Drake Maye at the top

Who does Doug Farrar have at the top of his latest 2024 mock draft?

There is almost a full calendar year left before the 2024 NFL draft but our colleagues at Touchdown Wire aren’t waiting to drop their latest mock.

At the very top of the draft order, which was determined by Pro Football Focus’ mock draft simulator, the Arizona Cardinals are on the clock. The team currently has Kyler Murray at quarterback entering the second year of his new contract that runs through 2028. However, that isn’t stopping Doug Farrar from giving them a new signal caller moving forward.

Pick 01.01: Arizona Cardinals

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Caleb Williams is the No. 1 quarterback on our rankings heading into year 2 with the USC Trojans.

What We Said:

Williams had an absolutely ridiculous season from a production standpoint, which helped him win the Heisman Memorial Trophy. Given how he played at Oklahoma and USC, we might even see better numbers in 2023. If the Trojans can earn a spot in the College Football Playoffs, it will be on the shoulders of Caleb Williams.
